Located in Vaudreuil, 30 minutes west of downtown Montreal and one hour from the National Capital, HaIrai is strategically situated between three major roads. Our plant covers 23,000 square feet and includes our manufacturing, welding, assembly and installation departments.
Halrai has developed an innovative process for the manufacture of the walls of its Kapalco vans. We have developed a table with a retractable cover where we insert the walls to bond. This structure is fitted with an air extraction system. A vacuum bonded wall has all the layers and glue placed on a table and a vacuum is applied to press the glue and layers together…its a much more uniform process , our walls are light weight but extermly strong.

Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) – also known as “stick welding or electric welding”, uses an electrode that has flux around it to protect the weld puddle. The electrode holder holds the electrode as it slowly melts away.
Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) – also known as TIG (tungsten, inert gas), uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld. The weld area is protected from atmospheric contamination by an inert shielding gas such as argon or helium.
Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) – commonly termed MIG (metal, inert gas), uses a wire feeding gun that feeds wire at an adjustable speed and flows an argon-based shielding gas or a mix of argon and carbon dioxide (CO2) over the weld puddle to protect it from atmospheric contamination.

- Cutting is done by sawing, and shearing, and via numerical control (CNC) punch press.
- Bending is done by numeric press brakes with controlled back gauges.
- Assembling (joining of the pieces) is done by welding, binding with adhesives, and riveting,

Halrai’s experience in vehicle electrical and electronics is vast. We understand that the vehicles we upfit are required to perform on a daily basis with minimal downtime. We take no short cuts when it comes to electrical design and functionality. Our upfits will always come with a wiring diagram for any equipment we have added. We build our own panels and harnesses that can easily disconnect all of our added components from the chassis for ease of troubleshooting .
